Cinema: a world where my imagination fly

Cinema is called the 7th art and it’s very impressive how much have changed since its beginning at the final years of the XIX century. This art has evolved and developed to limits that anyone, even the Lumiere brothers, could imagine in it’s first steps. The massification from Europe to all over the world in the XX century made it very popular, because the novelty that implied in every place that this new art was in every place that arrived. Nowadays, the U.S. is the most important producer of movies in the western hemisphere and sometimes its fame goes beyond the borders of this part of the world. Cinema have movie genres like horror, comedy, drama, romantic, action, historical and many more. There are all kind of movies for everyone’s taste!

Personally, I like to watch movies, because it makes me feel well and satisfied. My favorite movie genres are the comedies, historical and action. I have three remarkables movies that I liked until today: Fast and the Furious, Inglorious Basterds and Good Bye Lenin!

The Fast and the Furious is a movie saga, based on the story of Dominique Toretto and his ex-enemy and later friend, the cop Brian O’Conner. They run in the streets of L.A. (and later in other parts of the world) and have many adventures with their friends. These movies are not masterpieces of art, but they are fun (at least until the 5th movie) and I like them because of the cars.

Inglorious Basterds is a movie based on the Second World War, in which a group of allied soldiers plan an assassination attempt to Hitler and it’s government, taking place in the occupied France. From the soldier that chats to the woman that owns the cinema to the Colonel Hans Landa and its treat with the Inglorious Basterds, this movie of Quentin Tarantino mixes action, drama, history and black humor, things which I like a lot.

Finally, Good Bye Lenin! Its probably my very favorite movie. It takes place in East Germany at the final of the 80’s, prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall with Alex Kerner and his family. Alex’s mother is a very committed member of the Socialist Party which governs the country, but when she sees his son protesting, she got a stroke and fall in the hospital. After being freed by the police for protesting, Alex goes to see her mother who is in coma, but when she wakes up, after 7 months of the fall of the wall, she can’t know what has happened, because it could kill her of another stroke. So Alex have an idea: to fake every single detail in their house and enviroment, with help of his siter and new friend of work, Denis, with the purpose to hide the events that are happening in Germany after the collapse of communism. It is a brilliant movie, full history and comedy, that leaves you a feeling of nostalgy of better times in the past (ostalgie).

So that are my favorite movies and my thoughts  of cinema, sorry if it’s kind of long this blog, but hope you liked and interested this movies!
